Our Environment
The physical environment surrounding children is a major provider of opportunities and possibilities and is vital to their development. We believe that both the internal and external environment needs to be interesting and provide sensory stimulation for children. It is for this reason that we have provided a natural setting in our outside playground where there is large areas of space for children to discover, enjoy and be inspired. The delights of the outdoors are among the deepest, most passionate joys of childhood. At Wakefield we have embraced what we call “Return to Nature” not only will our outdoor spaces be fully naturalized with grass but also plants, trees, flowers, water, dirt, sand, animals and insects. Our backyard also has a wide variety of play opportunities of every imaginable type for your children to enjoy in a natural setting.
The Interactive environment between the natural outside setting along with our home-away-from-home internal environment fosters a child's desire to be self-motivated in the pursuit of learning. Our Indoor spaces are designed to nurture children's intellectual development, self-esteem, independence, cooperation and creativity. Just as the outdoor space has been planned for children’s development and inspiration, the inside area of our preschool is a developmentally appropriate learning environment where children are inspired throughout their day.
